Smugglers-turned-visionary leaders, brothers John and James Grant, founded The Glen Grant distillery in 1840, a landmark moment in the history of Scotch whisky.
In 1872, James "The Major" Grant, nephew of John Grant, inherited The Glen Grant distillery. He revolutionised the craft of producing single malt Scotch whisky by introducing water cooling purifiers and elongated stills.
One of the first Scottish distilleries to generate electricity (1883), The Major introduced the tall, slender pot stills and purifiers, which created the fresh malty flavour and clear colour that defines Glen Grant to this day.
For four years in a row, the 18 Year Old was voted the Best Scotch Whisky in the World, Best Single Malt Scotch (multiple casks), and Single Malt Scotch of the year (aged 16-21 years). This complex single malt Scotch offers delicate notes of vanilla, butterscotch, and raisins, complemented by hints of spice and a long, lingering finish.
Nose: Rich and floral, with oaky overtones and hints of spice.
Palate: Malty caramel, dried raisins, and vanilla.
Finish: Long, sweet with nuts and spice.
