James Eadie was a brewer born in Scotland in 1827. James Eadie established his company in 1854 and alongside brewing beer and owning as many as 200 pubs in his lifetime, also developed his own blended Scotch whisky. Today the company is run by his great-grandson and is known as an independent bottler of Scotch whisky under their small batch and single cask range.
Caol Ila Distillery is famous for the stunning view from its still house windows looking out across the Sound of Islay and for the objects which have passed by including naval battleships, submarines and whales. Caol Ila was established in 1846 by Hector Henderson on a sheltered but rocky stretch of coast on north east Islay. Now the largest malt whisky distillery on Islay it produces peated and some un-peated malt whisky with-in the distillery range. Caol Ila 11 Year Old 2010 vintage Islay single malt Scotch whisky.
