PREVIOUSLY FEATURED IN THE EXPLORER CLUB
Cut/Point is a proprietary brand founded by an Alberta whisky importer that first hit the market as two releases from Tullibardine in 2020, both being equally delicious and great sellers, which led to two more releases in 2022. One being from the Coal Ila distillery on Islay and the second being this month selections for you and your fellow club members.
Peter Mackenzie built the Benrinnes distillery in 1826. It lies at the bottom of the Ben Rinnes hill. A flood destroyed the distillery three years after opening. A few years later John Innes rebuilt it and later the distillery would go bankrupted and was sold, only to be destroyed once again within a few years. In 1950 it was purchased and rebuilt by John Dewar & Sons Company, which is now Diageo. In 2007, the triple distillation process was removed. To this day its production is primarily for blends and special editions like this one, as only one official bottling has ever been produced.
This 2008 Benrinnes spent 13 years in an Ex-Bourbon hogshead (Cask # 307387) and was bottled at cask strength 57.4%. This cereal-forward dram has the right amount of cask influence to balance out the spirit.
