Production began at our first distillery in beautiful Lochranza almost 30 years ago. Many other locations were considered at the time, but the proximity to Loch na Davie provided the distillery with a rather special source of fresh water for distilling.
Arran Amarone Wine Finish is the perfect partnership of rich, red wine casks and Arran Single Malt. After initially maturing in traditional oak casks over a number of years, The Arran Single Malt is ‘finished’ in a selection of Amarone wine casks. The wine casks used in this expression were sourced from an artisan producer of Amarone wine in the Veneto region of Italy.
Producer's Tasting Notes
Nose: Cherry, Turkish Delight, chocolate.
Palate: Poached pears, touch of cranberry and honey.
Finish: Sweetness, Pears, Turkish Delight, Cherries, Dark chocolate.
