Bard Cinder and Smoke Bourbon Founders

Continuing the award-winning heritage of Cinder & Smoke Bourbon, Founder’s Select is a special project that requires special attention. In the course of sampling mature spirits occasionally there are barrels that stand out. Founders, Thomas and Kim Bard, set these barrels aside, experimenting with different combinations, until they create a unique spirit that holds true to the flavor, feel, and finish that you expect from Cinder & Smoke. Each very small batch of Cinder & Smoke Founder’s Select consists of only three barrels of mature Kentucky Straight Bourbon. The spirit in each bottle was selected, blended, bottled, labeled, and signed by the founders, a true testament to the care and detail that you expect from a craft bourbon.

Nose: Sweet corn and grassy notes signal the expected, traditional bourbon notes of vanilla, butterscotch and Christmas spices. 

Palate: Sweet corn starts things off but is quickly replaced by a predominant oakiness. Luckily there is plenty of rich treacle, baking spices and white pepper to balance that off - particularly in the mid-palate. 

Finish: Medium-long with a creamy mouthfeel. The baking spice lingers with hints of toasted grain, vanilla and dried citrus peel at the end.
