Wemyss Cherry Bakewell Glen Keith 22 Year old

Limit of 1 bottle per Household
This Wemyss Malts bottling was aged and matured in a sherry butt and bottled after resting for 22 years. The Glen Keith distillery almost closed for good when it was mothballed in the late 90s but it's now fully operational once again. As is traditional for Wemyss (pronounced 'weems'), they've given it a name to give you a hint of the whisky's flavour profile. This expression is dubbed Cherry Bakewell Tart. Total outturn: 742 bottles worldwide.
Nose: A warming nose of freshly baked tarts alongside almonds, peanuts and coconut. There are also more savoury and spicy aromas of leather, dried mustard seed, fenugreek and old wood.
Palate: Red berry sweet with ripe cherry and raspberry cordial. The baking theme appears again with a sponge cake and brioche. The palate is spicy with a mild pepperiness.
Finish: Soft vanilla notes and gentle wood tannins in the finish.
