Grace O'Malley
In 2016, Stephen Cope and brand builders Stefan Hansen and Fritz Hendrick Melle meet in Dublin to discuss a new Irish Whiskey. Stephen is
the owner of the brandname “Grace O’Malley,” whereas German entrepreneurs Hansen and Melle have already developed an Irish brand with “Irish Pure” that sells great in Europe. All are fascinated with the story of Grace O'Malley who was a pirate, a clan leader and a survivor in 1500's. John Teeling, owner of the Great Northern Distillery was also fascinated and agreed to a service contract to provide the product. Grace O'Malley is now one of the most decorated of all Irish whiskies.
