Scarabus is a single malt that is sourced from an undisclosed Islay distillery. Hunter Laing introduced Scarabus for Fèis Ìle 2019 to
draw attention to the new Ardnahoe distillery that was being constructed on Islay by this iconic, independent bottler. Scarabus means ‘rocky place’ in Old Norse, named after a mystical area of Islay. The whole expression is quite mysterious, from the secretive distillery to the golden symbols adorning the bottle.
