The first Murderer to carry out Macbeth’s terrible bidding is realised here as a robust, smoky malt from Scotland’s western reaches. Distilled on the Isle of Mull, this heavily peated whisky is thick with coastal notes of seaweed, shellfish and brine. An excellent casting for one of Shakespeare’s most sinister creations.
Each whisky in this series was chosen by Elixir Distillers based on character profiles written by Dave Broom. The illustrations that appear on the labels are the work of the great Sir Quentin Blake.
Nose: Mineral notes, slight vanilla, citrus, chocolate and dry pinewood fire smoke.
Palate: Spirity, vanilla ice cream, salty bechamel souce, hints of briney lemon zest and gummy bears in the background.
Finish: Medium to long, round and oily, but with slightly rough edges.
