In 2017, J&J Spirits launched a retail line of Single Cask Nation products specifically aimed at specialty whisky stores and finer whisk(e)y bars. These products were only available in the United States but are now available in Canada.
This Linkwood was bottled for the Edmonton Scotch Club. It was cask-finished for 4 years in a first-fill Oloroso Sherry hogshead (Cask #173366). Total outturn: 234 bottles.
Nose: Subtle floral notes and a perceptible sweetness. Oaky, woody with malted barley aromas.
Palate: Hot at full strength so don't be scared to add a few drops of water. Opens with floral tea notes, rich spiciness and a hint of ginger. The Oloroso cask lends characteristic Christmas spices. Tobacco leaf on the back palate.
Finish: Short, nutty and earthy.
