This unique Glenlivet expression was one of the first to use French oak for aging whisky, a technique that has since been imitated the world over. The Limousin oak used is cut in France’s Dordogne region, famous for maturing cognac. The oak's low density allows the whisky to sink deep into the wood. Glenlivet then carefully controls the amount of time the whisky is allowed to mature in the casks - so as not to overpower the desired result: a unique, pleasing spiciness.
Nose: Buttery and rich with a creamy mouthfeel.
Palate: Sweet fruits, delicate spices and nuttiness.
Finish: Lingering, sweet almond and spice.
