The 'Connoisseurs Choice' collection brings together rare and sought after single malts from some of Scotland’s longest established distilleries. The Teaninich Distillery is situated near Alness, north of the Cromarty Firth, along the road from Dalmore distillery and not too far from one of Scotland’s few grain distilleries, Invergordon. It was founded in 1817 and extended in both 1899 and in 1970. Cask 17601701 was distilled in 2009 and bottled in May, 2021.
Nose: Restrained and delicate, freshly cut hay, oak spices and tropical fruits. At the end some stewed prune and wood funk.
Palate: Round from the sherry influence but youthfulness adds some effervescence and punch. Orange peel, biscuit dough, dates and some ginger spice.
Finish: Medium length with the spice and citrus zest making a final push at the end.
