Lochlea operated as a small dairy farm until 2014 when the owners planted 50 acres of malting barley and soon after the decision was made to build a farm distillery.
The Fallow expression is part of Lochlea's limited-edition seasonal releases that showcases the Lochlea character in four different styles each year. As a working farm growing their own barley, these releases signify the annual farming cycle at Lochlea. The Fallow Edition is matured in 100% first-fill Oloroso Sherry butts and is inspired by the season of autumn on the farm, when the fields rest after a busy harvest.

Nose: Cooked apples, sweet medjool dates.
Palate: Freshly baked malted bread, Manuka honey.
Finish: Rich buttery sandalwood oils, mixed peppercorns.
