Founded back in 1817, Teaninich Distillery was built on the grounds of Teaninich Castle just south of Alness. Interestingly, Teaninich uses a hammer mill and mash filter (the only one operational in a Scottish malt distillery) that was installed in 2000. This removes the need for a mash tun, produces clear wort, and heavily influences the whisky's nature.
This expression has been finished in Sauternes casks since November 2020, that instills sweet, fruity notes such as peaches in syrup, honey, apricots and banana loaf.
