This is part of the Marriage of Casks series from undisclosed Speyside whisky that was distilled in 1992. Could it be blending stock from an unnamed distillery, or perhaps part of a large scale vatting from Glenlivet that have been re-racked into re-fill barrels? Whatever the provenance, this expression is simply an outstanding all-rounder. Mature but still vital, lightly waxy with plenty of fruit and a healthy ABV. Delicious.

Producer's Tasting Note
Nose: Baked apples with cinnamon sugar and short crust pastry jump out of the glass. Custard creams dipped in sweet tea are balanced against a tang of satsuma.
Palate: Wonderfully oily and viscous with crunchy apple and conference pears against a backdrop of dry spice and buttery pastry.
Finish: The spice continues to develop with a lovely elegant tannic note similar to earl grey tea.
