This 35 hectare site contains a cooperage, coppersmith, its own bottling lines, a vast number of warehouses and two stillhouses containing a total of 28 stills. This is malt whisky making on a huge scale. Built by William Grant (and his 9 children), the first spirit came off the stills on Christmas Day, 1887. The firm is still 100% owned by the Grant family (now in its fifth generation) and now also owns three additional malt distilleries [Balvenie, Kininvie and Ailsa Bay], a grain distillery [Girvan] and a line of other brands such as Monkey Shoulder.
