John Distilleries is located in Bangalore, India with a single malt distillery located in Goa. The company has been producing blended whisky since
1996, and began distilling single malt whisky 2008. A unique feature of this whisky is the effect a hot and humid climare has on the aging process. The tropical climate of Goa matures the liquid faster than in cooler regions but the amount lost to evaporation during ageing (Angels' Share) is significantly higher. In India the Angels' Share is 8-10% per annum whereas in Scotland it's about 2%.
